Necklace

I was very blessed this month .  Joyce in Arizona sent me an amazing package of beads. I sent her a mouse like the one I have posted here. Instead of a payment I told her to send some beads . I only expected a few beads not over 10 lbs. here is a necklace I have started the strips of saint petersburg  weave and chevron are joined together to form a spine using 3mm drops its looking great so far. I was hoping to have it finished by now but a lady at quilting has oared two pairs of finger less gloves and she would like a pair finished by Thursday , No pressure !

Quilts

I just have to tell all about Melva . She is a fantastic Quilter. In 2009 she decided to make the nursing home quilts for all there beds over 60 quilts, then she contacted the aged care home and is half way through making all the beds there a quilt. Melva is in her 80s but she runs ring around all the younger quilters, we have trouble making one quilt a year Melva makes quilts in weeks. The above quilt is called jigsaw as you can see its made from scraps of fabric she is trying to use up her stash.

Wayne's Budgies

We have had Budgies for a long time they are lovely birds. we have only a small problem they breed like rabbits. We tried taking out the nest boxes but they laid eggs in the seed dishes and on the benches so we had to put them back in and just give away the offspring

Arid lands

Just out of Port Augusta, On the road to Alice Springs there is a botanic garden. Its no like most Botanic gardens, its only Arid plants that thrive in the hot dry weather here. They have the best coffee and desserts. We all went there for lunch on Monday . here are a few plants I liked

Pergola

We have been using our pergola a lot more, we have been eating breakfast and lunch out here so we have decided  to extend it . The poles are in place waiting  for cement . I am sitting on my computer in the photos. I am really looking forward more room , I may move my spinning wheel out here as well..

Going Green part 2

We have had our meter changed . now all the extra power we make the power company will pay us per kilowatt h.   It will be very nice to get a bill in credit. The light is on so we are putting power on to the grid when this photo was taken.

Pebbles

My parent's have a little very active dog called Pebbles. She got her name because her mum was called Rocky. She travels every were with them. when she was only a few weeks old she traveled around Australia in a caravan. Here she is making herself very comfortable on my knitting.

Quilt fair

the Exhibition was great. I worked on the door on Friday and was amazed how many people came , I thought we would not be busy until the weekend but I was wrong. The three shops were very good, lots of different fabric and tools on each. I had to give a speech on Friday morning , that was not great , I could not stop shaking. The mayor then opened the exhibition. I am sorry that the photos are a bit shaky. I was not allowed to post photos of the quilts on here sorry....

Crocheting

I have been playing with different crocheting. I have been watching you tube and crocheting along with the video. I love twj1963 the best , she is very easy to follow and has a left handed video as well . I usually have to watch how a right handed person crochets then change it myself . I am planning a rug for Jay to sit on on the lounge , I know he is only a dog but he gets cold just like we do.

Sashiko Workshop

I was only able to do one of the workshops at the exhibition but I really enjoyed it. I only have to get three more made to make the table trivet
At the exhibition I brought this roll of 32 sixteenth of fabric for my next Hexagon quilt.

My birthday

Well its here I am 48 today, I thought I was 47 but I just worked it
out and I am definitely  48 this year , like it really matters,,,,
I hope you enjoy the panel bag patterns I thought it would be good to use up random beads

I got the knit kit tool in aqua and my parents drove 380 km to have dinner with me. That was the best gift ever.

Knitting

I have finished the body of my jumper. Now all I have to do is pick up all the stitches around the front , around the bottom and the other front. I have to join the arms and the sides before I can pick up the stitches but I liked the look of it spread out.
