I was given this tin of biscuits as a Chris Kringle and now that the biscuits are gone the tin fits my strait knitting needles perfectly. The flowers on the out side of this tin is a king Protea , They are south African but grow here.

Craft Bag
I found this pattern at http://ayumills.blogspot.com/2010/08/tutorial-lunch-bag.html
I changed the patten a little bit , increasing the size by 3 inches making it
15 1/2 x 12 inches to make a carry bag.
15 1/2 x 12 inches to make a carry bag.
Its fantastic because the draw string top stops my knitting or craft stuff falling out.
The photoed bags are Christmas gifts.

Knitting beads
I have just finished stringing on to crochet cotton number 20. I have a book titled Bead Knitted Bags~10 Projects for Beader's and Knitters by Julia S. - Pretl. Its great because it comes with a DVD and all the patterns have a chart as well as the patterns written out in words. The book also shows how to knit the beads with a twisted stitch.

Another Beaded Box
I am in the process of beading another box . This time I am using up my size 9 beads. I now use mostly 11s. Its going to be larger than the last one I made.I have finished the lid and the reinforced edge worked out great. I have started on the base of the box it has a cat on the walls.
I am having trouble with the beads because the bead are not the correct sized . this is another reason i am not using these beads any more but when I started beading they were all I could get locally.

Chris Kringle
I never know what to give as a Chris Kringle. I have three groups that I have to have a Christmas gift for every year its a problem. The gifts don't have to be expensive they have a limit of between 10 and 15 dollars which is not much but I like to give a hand made gift then I have the problem of is what I plan on giving good enough. I could not get to the sewing machine because I am having Back problems again. So this year I beaded some pens and got Wayne (the Better Half) to go and get me some 2011 diaries .So we will see today if its good enough for the person who gets it.
